At In-Tension Training, our mission is to empower hardworking and opportunistic individuals through accessible, high-quality training that supports both athletic performance and holistic well-being. Founded in 2019 by South High School alumni Jenesis Fonder and Roy Palmer, our vision was born from firsthand experience with the lack of affordable fitness options. We are committed to breaking down those barriers by offering comprehensive programs that enhance physical performance, build healthier lifestyles, and foster a strong sense of community and connection. What started as a Minneapolis business has grown far and wide through our dedication to the mission. At In-Tension, we train with purpose — and we grow together.

Foundations

Our Foundations Programs are the entry level to whatever your athletic and lifting goals are. We prioritize the beginning building blocks to provide you get a strong foundation to build on. Focusing on mobility, stability, strength, and routine. We find that this is the best program for those starting out or trying to get into a routine to set them up for success. 

We offer 2, 3, or 4 days a week programs that you can access below.

12 Week Transformation

The 12 Week Transformation is built for everyday adults ready to take control of their health, get stronger, and feel better, without needing to train like a competitive athlete. Whether you’re getting back into the gym or building momentum for the first time, this program helps you lose fat, build lean muscle, and boost energy with a smart, sustainable approach to fitness.

Train Along With Roy

Train side-by-side with Coach Roy and follow the exact workouts, lifts, and routines he does every day. This team-style program gives you full access to Roy’s personal training blueprint—designed to build strength, improve performance, and keep you locked in year-round. Stay consistent, stay accountable, and level up with the squad every week.

In-Tension

Roy Palmer is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist with a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science and Physiology. Working with people of all ages and performance goals is what makes Roy stand out from the rest of the crowd. Utilizing evidence-based programming that promotes whole person health and helps people achieve their personal goals is what drives the programming and coaching at In-Tension training. Everyone who comes to In-Tension training will have a huge selection of plans that are tailored and fit to help achieve their own personal goals. On the sports side Roy supplies a library of programs that fit the needs of the athlete, from sprinting and speed work to fundamental strength and movement, Roy has it all. 

 

Don’t just take it from us, Roy has helped numerous high school athletes earn athletic scholarships, worked with collegiate athletes of all sports, assisted in NFL pro day/combine prep, and even trained NFL, NHL, and professional basketball players. He has also helped people of all ages and backgrounds get out of pain, learn to love to train, look, feel and move better, get back to doing what they love, and achieve their personal goals.
